چکیده
سبيل أم عباس هو اشهر بين معالم حي القاهرة يقع عند تقاطع شارع الركبية وشارع السيوفية مع الصلبية المؤدي الى ميدان القلعة وهو نموذج يجسد مكانة المرأة ودورها في اعمال الخير كالرجال، شيدته الأميرة (بنبا قادن) زوجة الأمير أحمد طوسون عام 1867، وكان درباً من الخيال ان تضع والدته سبيلاً اصبح أشهر السبل مصر مبنى تراثي نادر، يتزين بالألوان الزاهية والنقوش الفنية المبهرة، الغرض الاساسي منه، توزيع مياه الشرب النقية على المارة أجل الثواب والدعاء، كما تم الحقت به كتاباً وبه معلمون تعليم الاطفال العلوم الحال المدارس الحكومية والتي أنشاها عهد الخديوي اسماعيل .
